Not exactly clear what you're asking...

Do you want to use the built-in monitor plus one external monitor, or the built-in monitor plus two external monitors?

Inspiron 24-5420 has only one HDMI-OUT port which will let you connect one external monitor or TV to the PC. NOTE: there are two HDMI ports on rear of this PC, but only one is HDMI-OUT, the other is HDMI-IN for connecting a game box or dvd player.  See the back panel here.

Once the external monitor is connected, you'll have to configure Windows for what you want it to display, eg same screen, extended screen, or 2 separate screens.

If you really want to use the internal monitor plus two external monitors, connect one monitor or TV directly to the HDMI-OUT port.  Then connect a second external monitor to a USB3>video dongle which has the right output port for the monitor, eg USB3>HDMI. And configure Windows...

Just make sure the dongle supports your version of Windows, and the "recommended" (aka: "native" or "optimal") resolution of the monitor you'll connect to the USB dongle.

Ron, thanks for the response, sir!  I want to use the built-in monitor plus two external monitors, so your advice about USB3 and a dongle is appreciated.

The All-in-One Owner's manual indicates there are three different types of USB 3.2 ports on the back of the computer:

1. USB 3.2 Gen 1 port with Power on/Wake-up support (2 each)

2. USB 3.2 Gen 2 port with PowerShare

3. USB 3.2 Gen 1 port with Power on/Wake-up support

Do you recommend a particular port for connecting to the second of two external monitors?

Good evening!

I'd use either #1 or #3, which are the same type USB3 ports, and I'd "Set the BIOS Deep Sleep control to disabled to enable Wake up when the computer is powered off", as mentioned in the service manual.

You can always undo that BIOS change, if necessary...
